Astor Court and Sea Lion Pool

At the heart of the park, bark hello to the sea lions, tour Zoo Center, and take a trip back in time to the Zoo’s earliest days. Built at the turn of the 20th century, Astor Court’s Beaux-Arts buildings are New York City landmarks.

What to See and Do

Sea Lion feeding:
Apr.–Oct.: 11:00 a.m. (except Wednesdays) and 3:00 p.m.
Nov.–Mar.: 10:30 a.m. (except Wednesdays) and 3:00 p.m.

Our crew of swimmers and sunbathers love to impress a crowd. See them spin and flip and hear them show off their big voices!

Stroll our peacock garden. Parasols optional!
New benches and walkways make the landscaped central corridor of Astor Court a pleasant respite from the zoo’s bustle.

Count humps.
Bactrian camels wade and graze outside Zoo Center. These two-humped camels differ from the dromedary camels in Asia Plaza.
